Accordion Pocket Wallet

Hi all! I've been very busy. I have been filling orders from the Chick's Picks show a few weeks ago. It's been pretty difficult as guilt always seems to set in when my kids are stuck in the house so I can bust out the orders! LOL! I try to keep a good balance. Waking up early to fill orders and leaving the afternoon free for my kiddos.

Never the less, I have introduced another wonderful product to my line of accessories. The Accordion Pocket Wallet is one of the cutest and my most favorite thing to make (that and the Picnic Lunch Tote). I have one of my very own and I love it!

It boasts plenty of open pockets (4 to be exact) and a zipper pocket for coins. The accordion style allows for room to grow too!

Look inside. It's pretty roomy with lots of pockets!

A view from above.

Well the Independence Day is almost here. I hope you all have your American flags out! Can't believe June is just about over. See you in July!

A Happy Father's Day

We had a wonderful weekend full of laughs and giddiness. Not sure why! Perhaps the breakfast plate kicked the silliness off! I think my husband celebrated "his" day just right. He watched the US Open for most of the weekend. We went to the pool Sunday morning, but was scared off by the ugly, dark clouds you see below. It was dark, windy and sounds of thunder were in the distance. So we went home.

But of course in true Glancey luck we came home, showered and the sun was shining brightly right after. Ho, hum. Oh well, we spilled into the neighborhood where we were met by all the other dads playing with their kiddos. Then in for more golf, cookout and an evening movie.

The gifts? Well, here's the gifts we got my husband:

It's an "Interview with Dad" book! So cute :)

My husband complained about not having a picture of us when he traveled for business. This frame closes with a magnetic closure. The man in the frame is no relation to us ;) I replaced it with pictures of the kids on the left and a picture of Tom and I on the right.

I found these products at Compendium Inc. It's such a great little gift site with cute ideas. My girls took the responsibility of "interviewing" their dad promptly! The interview doesn't seem like it'll end any time soon. The book is filled with great questions like, "What was your childhood home like..." and "...What are the one or two things you did that you didn't tell your parents about..."! It is really making him think about what to say! It's a great heirloom piece.

In addition to these two gifts, my husband received a cactus plant as our youngest was adamant about getting him one for his office and a set of his favorite golf balls.

Hope all the dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day!

No More Drama Please!

Well if you all have been wondering, "hey where did she go?" I wish I could answer, "Paris" or "The Caribbean Islands". Sadly none of this fits :( Here's the drama my family went through that has taken my attention away from my happy blogging, in a nutshell of course:

  • My youngest (the funniest of the clan) has severe food allergies and ended up in the hospital last Monday (this of course after her poor mommy had to call 911 as she frantically tried to administer an Epipen *whimper*)
  • Little one finally gets cleared to go back to school on Wednesday
  • She gets a viral infection due to her weakened immune system
  • Middle child is overcome with fear as she is by her baby sisters side before and after school. She even made her note while waiting for her return from the hospital
  • I had a boutique show on Friday and my hubster took off work to stay home with the wee sick one
  • Yesterday she went back to school for the first time since being sick and her mommy circled the school a few times before actually moving on with her day
  • Working with the school, changing and creating policies that were never in place which resulted in my daughter's severe reaction
Yadda, yadda, yadda here I am again! Phew. Now for your viewing pleasure, here are some pics from the show! I am a vendor at Chick's Picks, a fabulous boutique that runs shows nearly every quarter locally here in VA. It's fun and the items are just so girly!!! Check it out:

Close up of my bags :)

The other side of the table

I had so much fun at the show. It was a nice "time out" from all the drama and worrying. I thank God every day that my little one pulled through and is home with us. I look forward to more days of happiness.

It's a Party!

As some of you may already know, based on previous posts I have a 6 year old with a great imagination and a comedic sense of humor. Well she's done it again. This time she's thought of a great way to solve an annoying problem we have been seeing in our home since Spring started.

THE PROBLEM:

Ants. We seem to be hosting a family of tiny, black ants all over our main floor. I don't like using chemical sprays for obvious reasons but I feel like I have to nuke my home to get rid of them since nothing is working...until a little someone thought of a solution!

THE SOLUTION:

I purchased a well recomended brand of ant bates and strategically placed them around the house. It seemed to work the first few days but the ants were on to us...at lease that's what Victoria said.

"Hey mommy, they probably know that the ant bates are not good for them. We just have to make it so they want to go in." says my little genius.

Her solution? Make it an "Ant Party"! Yup, an Ant Party. She made up signs and secured them to the wall above each ant bate. She said it will make them WANT to come in and party! Then they will die. Her words.

THE RESULTS:

It worked. Yes sir, it did. No ants crawling in my kitchen. What she may not have known? Daddy sprayed ant repellent and re-caulked the baseboards and back splash. But hey, why ruin the fun? Now let's PARTY!!!

Enjoy
